As mentioned before, the deadline for my final product is fast approaching and I am definitely feeling the stress of this massive deadline. This week I really pushed myself to perfect my program so that it ran without errors and produced the data that I needed. In order to reach this goal, I spent many hours analyzing the math and logic behind the calculations I was doing and a significant portion of time making sure the results were accurate. Once this was complete and perfected to the best of my ability and knowledge, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders as I was able to finally check off that data analysis portion of my project.

The next step included starting to map the data points and see where the new pipelines would go. I have only done a little bit of this step as the perfected program was my main focus for this past week. Throughout the project I had discussed trying to find some kind of mapping software that would allow me to display and manipulate the data points in the way that I wanted to. This search for the “perfect” mapping software has proved futile as any software I find either doesn’t fit the specifications that I need, is too expensive, or too complicated to be learned for this project. In lieu of this I have decided to use the graphing capabilities of excel to plot the points on a coordinate plane and then overlay a map that will give an idea of the new pipelines I am trying to construct. This will be the primary focus for the early part of this week and then I will work on polishing my product up in time for the deadline coming Friday.
